Yuri O. Thomas, age 32 of Johnstown, Colorado went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, September 17, 2018.
Yuri was born on February 3, 1986 in St. Vincent. He came to the United States in 2010 to pursue his life-long dream of becoming a police officer. He met and married his wife Nola Thomas on November 17, 2012. He was preceded in death by his mother, Angela Thomas. Yuri is survived by his wonderful wife Nola, his step-daughter Asha, and his two dogs Moses and Sarah and several extended family members.
Yuri fulfilled his life long dream when he became a police officer with the Johnstown Police Department. He has served with the Police Department since February 2018. He lived a life of excellence. He enjoyed interacting with the community and had a desire to make an impact with the youth.
Yuri was a man of character and a trustworthy human being. He had great integrity and high ethical standards. He had a bright welcoming smile that lit up a room which went along with his great personality. He touched the lives of everyone he came into contact with and was a great inspiration. Yuri will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
Yuri enjoyed spending quality time with his beloved wife. He was also a car enthusiast and loved working on his 1972 Datsun 510. His other hobbies included playing drums, going to the range, dancing and singing, and playing with his dogs.
A celebration service of Yuri’s life will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, September 24, 2018 at REZ.Church 6502 E. Crossroads Blvd., Loveland, CO. Viewing will be at Viegut Funeral Home at 1616 N. Lincoln Ave. in Loveland, CO on Sunday, September 23, 2018 from 2pm-4pm and 1 hour prior to services.
