Vivian Angela Menke Olson was born on August 22, 1933, in LaBelle, Missouri to Ralph James Menke and Elsie Estella Menke. She was raised on a farm near LaBelle, Missouri with her parents and four sisters, Velma, Leatha, Beverly, and Carolyn. She had a very happy childhood.
She married her high school sweetheart, Harold “Gene” on June 3, 1950, and they had four children: Clifford Warren, Gary Wayne, Kathy Gailene, and Penny Jean. She was so sad when Gene passed away on December 30, 2016.
Vivian worked at Hewlett Packard for many years and was a supervisor for part of that time. Before and after Hewlett Packard, she worked in high school food service, simply because she loved young people.
Vivian was a devoted and loving wife, who took care of Gene through ten years of health issues. She was a wonderful and loving mother who was always interested in everything her children and grandchildren were doing or involved in. Cliff, Gary, Kathy, and Penny all agree that she was the most loving, helpful, fun and devoted Mom they could have ever asked for. She was equally adored by her eleven grandchildren, and twenty great grandchildren. Her influence in all of their lives will carry on for many years.
Vivian had a gift for making friends, and everyone felt accepted and welcome in her presence. She loved animals and had many dogs and cats through the years, who were treated like royalty. She also loved gardening and canning food and growing flowers. In addition, she loved baking, cooking, and sharing her food with others.
Vivian was a devout Seventh-day Adventist Christian and a long-time member of the Campion Academy Seventh-day Adventist Church.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, April 29, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Campion Academy Seventh-day Adventist Church, 300 42nd Street SW, Loveland, CO 80537.
