Vernice C. Schwartz (Vernie), 84, of Loveland, went home to be with our Lord on December 24, 2017, in Fredericksburg, VA.
Vernie was born in St. Francis, KS on April 12, 1933 to Irma and Fred Brant, being the middle of five children. They eventually move to farm west of Ft.Collins, CO. In 1949, through her brother, she met the love of her life, Clarence Schwartz at the Greeley Stampede carnival. With their marriage in 1950, she was introduced and involved in the German/Russian heritage, especially the wonderful cooking!
The new Schwartz family moved to California in 1956 to follow dreams and raise four children, children were older, she returned to school, became a nurse and specialized in Pediatrics until her retirement. She had many interests/hobbies; scouts, stitchery, activities through church (especially Bunko), cooking, camping and travel. She especially enjoyed touring the Holy Land and visiting Hawaii.
She is survived by daughter Pamela Smith (Dick), Berthoud, sons Gregory (Debbie), Greenwich, OH and Timothy (Sheila), Stafford, VA; five grandchildren: Jeff Quade, Timothy Schwartz Jr. (Lindsay), Amanda Latchaw, Todd Schwartz, step-granddaughter Sarah Smith (Jessie); and six great grandchildren: Molly Latchaw, Lily Latchaw, Evelyn Latchaw, Callie Quade, Benjamin Smith, Beau Smith.
Vernie was preceded in death by her husband Clarence, son T. Michael, two brothers, two sisters, and her parents.
A memorial service will be held for Vernie on April 2, 2018, 10:00 at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, Loveland, CO. Dress to be bright to represent salvation and freedom from the bonds of death. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Vernie’s name to Mount Olive Lutheran Church 3411 S. Taft Ave., Loveland, CO 80537.
