Terry Eugene Stolz was born April 17, 1956 to Barbara and Ivan Stolz in Loveland, CO. Terry was the oldest of four brothers and one sister. He lived and worked on the family dairy farm and graduated from Loveland High School in 1974, along with several classes from Vo Tech College.
Terry’s first love, even as a small boy, was bull riding. He entered the Junior Rodeos here in Loveland and moved up to regional and PRCA Rodeos. After high school, Terry spent a summer on a wheat harvest crew, beginning in Chillicothe, Texas and ending in North Dakota; saying it was a wonderful experience, but he’d never do that again. He also worked a short time at Coors Brewery and Eastlake Dairy near Denver.
While visiting his dad in Torrington, Wyoming, he found a job on an oil rig roughnecking and worked up to being a driller; which he did for many years while rodeoing at the same time. He eventually started his own company, Wyoming Trenching & Hot Shot Services; providing many services to area oil fields and traveling all over Colorado, Wyoming and Nebraska. Terry had a bull step on him, breaking his hip, which required a full hip replacement in 1990. This injury ended his bull riding career.
He married Lynn Eddy in 1990, which gave him two sons, Cody and Garrett. Terry and Lynn divorced in 1998. He then married Susan Williams in the summer of 2002. Susan and Terry live on a ranch southwest of Loveland, T & S Ranch, where they raise premium bucking bulls and roping horses. Terry worked with youth for many years, teaching them his passion for bull riding and the sport of rodeo. Terry and Susan, worked with several organizations, including The Johnstown Saddle Club, and The Ride Begins At The Foot Of The Cross.
Terry is survived by his wife Susan Stolz; his mother Barbara Stolz; his four siblings: Jerry (Thresa) Stolz, Nancy (Doug) Starks, Bill (DaNae) Stolz, Vance (Kim) Stolz; two sons: Cody Stolz and Garrett Stolz; two step-sons: Ken (Droxsan) Williams, Dusty (Mandi) Williams; five grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Terry was proceeded in death by his father Ivan Stolz; Grandparents: Elbert and Bertha Stolz, Steve and Annabell Stephenson.
