Shirley Drury Patterson, 86, of Loveland, passed away Sunday, June 14, 2020. Born in Sterling, CO She was the daughter of the late Carl Walter Drury and Muriel Avis Scheaffer Drury. Shirley graduated from Longmont High School in 1951.
Shirley has been an editor starting with her Longmont High School yearbook and newsletter to being the editor-in-chief for the About Towne (journal), Atlantic Waves (newsletter) and Columbine Brewgle (newsletter). She was recognised with many literature awards through the years. Shirley was also a genealogist for over 40 years in which her writings and publications are in the Library of Congress. She is in the book "Who's Who of American Women 2004-2005.
Shirley married James Riley Patterson, March 28, 1981. They have been married for 39 years. She had married Donald Eugene Loomiller in 1953 (div. Jan 3, 1963)
Surviving are her husband, Jim, her children, Craig Loomiller of Disney, OK and Cynthia (Mark) Sandifer of Windsor, CO; grandchildren, Shane (Diane) Clark of Kersey, CO, Jason Clark of Eaton, CO, Cory (Kristi) Clark of Wray, CO, Andrea (Brandon) Inda, Owasso, OK,and 9 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Jack, brother Ted, and sister Linda.
A memorial service will be held Friday, June 19, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. at Viegut Funeral Home with a reception following in the home of her daughter, Cynthia.
