Rodrick Baker Murray of Johnstown/Loveland, CO, gained his wings on November 24, 2019 after a long battle from an aneurism at the young age of 55. He was born in Wichita, KS. He moved to Colorado and worked for several plumbing companies. He worked for George T. Sanders in Berthoud, CO for 15 years. He was the brains of the company, everyone’s “go to” guy for customers and coworkers. He was a very devoted employee. He never sugar coated anything, he was very blunt and to the point in his own way. He would make everyone laugh with his jokes and giggles.
Rod enjoyed riding his bicycles in the mountains and when he could no longer do that, he started collecting and working on them. He also loved going to car races. Every day he would come in to work and print out a Grumpy Cay saying. The last one he found said “In 2 secs, I’m going to poke your eyes out.” Anyone who knew Rod could hear the giggle with these sayings.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother.
Rod is survived by his sister Angela and her husband and their 3 daughters. He is also survived by a brother and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
His Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, it is requested that you choose a family member or friend in need and help them in honor of Rod.
