Surrounded by her daughters, at home, Rhonda peacefully gained her wings May 23, 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer.
She attended schools in Syracuse and Wichita KS graduating from Syracuse High School in 1968. Rhonda was an active member of the Band playing numerous instruments as well as Choir and Glee Club, she had one heck of a set of pipes, an incredible singing voice. She attended Wichita State University and later obtained her AA in accounting with honors from FRCC, avidly working on her bachelor’s from Regis University. She loved to learn and took every opportunity to do just that.
Rhonda moved to Denver, Co in 1969 along with her Mother, and later that year to Loveland where she called home until 2004 when she moved to Wellington to be closer to her girls and grandchildren. She worked at the Dog Track, and Teledyne WaterPik before being hired at Hewlett Packard in 1979. She worked in the PC Shop, Plating and the stockroom until she was promoted to the accounting department. She loved her job, and made many lifelong friends while there, including Deena Hansen whom was by her side until the end.
In her spare time, she loved playing Trivia (Help me Rhonda Trivia team HP) reading, crocheting, taking pictures, and spending time with her girls, grandkids, great grandson as well as family and friends. She was an avid Colorado Rockies Super fan and she attended games as much as she could.
Rhonda is survived by her daughters Erin Massey (Mike) and Megan Pesina both of Wellington, loving son Cris Buderus of Denver, her grandchildren Andre Mendoza, Kelsey Massey, Sydney Pesina, Dante Pesina, Caleb Massey and great grandson Giovani or as Grammie would call him “the red headed demon child”, Great Aunt Phyllis Whorton, Uncles Ronald Hamlin and Howard Hamlin all of Kansas, numerous cousins and dear close friends. Rhonda is proceeded in death by her Mother, Lois Jennings, her Father Kenneth Jennings, and her Grandmother Pauline Reed. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.
Cremation has taken place.
The family would also like to give a special Thank you to Dr. Miho Scott, The Cancer Center nurses and staff, and the nurses on the Oncology 5th floor at UCHealth PVH for their outstanding care of our Mom during her fight.
A Celebration of life will take place on Sunday June 30, 2019 at the Sundance Saloon and Steak house from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. We ask that you wear something purple or your favorite Rockies gear to help remember Rhonda.
