Michael "Mike" Eugene Krogmeier

March 14, 1948 ~ June 13, 2020 (age 72)


Michael Eugene Krogmeier "Mike" began his life’s journey on March 14, 1948.  His parents, Eugene V. and Mary E. Krogmeier, proudly welcomed their first of seven children into their family.

In high school, Mike played football and ran track. He was a proud member of the Ovid, CO Red Devil’s football team, who won the state championship in 1962. He loved sports of all kinds especially his BELOVED BRONCOS!!

Mike’s was an avid hunter and sportsman and enjoyed his time in the wilderness.  He was a kind- hearted man and loved his family and friends dearly.  He had lived at Carter Lake for 30 years.  He enjoyed the deer that slept on his porch and all the wildlife that wandered his property.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1966-1970, including a year in Vietnam.  Mike earned the rank of Captain. He was a sharp shooter and recipient of many medals including a treasured, hard-earned Purple Heart.

Mike is survived by his siblings:  Deborah Grant (Bill) of Clarkson, KY, Nancy Wilson, Marilyn Walter (Chris), Gary Krogmeier, Mary Skipworth (Bob) and Barb Schleiger (Curt) all of Loveland.  He had many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his loving father Gene and grand-nephew, Taylor Schleiger and many friends and relatives.

Mike touched so many lives and was a friend to countless people.  His best friend of over 50 years, Glen Schaeffer passed away the day before Mike passed.  Mike would be thrilled to know he will touch more lives with his donation of skin, bones and tissues!

Upon his death he entered into the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Mike, when we must, we will follow you.  Until then, each remaining day, we will have your heart.

Cremation was completed. Graveside services with Military Honors will be held at Loveland Burial Park on Thursday, June 18, 2020 at 1:00pm.
