Michael Bruce Rummel, 58, of Scottsbluff, died April 16, 2019 in a hospital in Loveland, Colorado. He was born January 7, 1961 in Scottsbluff to Jean (Netherland) and Bob Rummel.
He attended schools in Scottsbluff and Omaha before moving to Marshall, MN where he graduated from high school in 1979. Mike then attended Southwest Minnesota State University before becoming employed at Schwan’s Inc. He later worked for the State of Wyoming at Casper as an oil and gas well inspector.
After moving back to Scottsbluff, he worked as a bus driver for WNCC, a position he especially enjoyed because he came to know and appreciate many of the students who were transported to games and other activities.
Survivors include: daughter Brittney of Casper; three step children Lori Frank, Johnny Rainbolt and Casey Armstrong; former wife Sherry Armstrong all of Casper; his father Bob Rummel and step-mother Sandy Rummel; brother John Rummel; step sisters Lisa, Tracy and Wendy; step brother Randy (all of Colorado); and several grandchildren. He is also survived numerous cousins, aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his mother, his grandparents Wes and Mary Netherland and Bruce and Ethel Rummel.
Cremation has been conducted. Services will be at 11a.m. on Friday, April 26, 2019 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Scottsbluff, NE, followed by a luncheon reception at the adjoining Fellowship Hall.
