Mark B. Havens, 62, passed away in his sleep Sunday, December 15, 2019. Mark was a fighter when it came to his health. He survived a double lung transplant in December 2012 after a long battle with stage 4 emphysema. His unique and extraordinary positive attitude extended his life for 7 more years. Without the incredible support from the UCHS transplant department, we wouldn't have gotten these additional 7 wonderful years.
Mark’s passion was creating and making custom men’s fedora hats. He was self-taught and his craftsmanship is unparalleled in the world of hat making. He received great joy in his creativity and seeing the process from beginning to completion. He was very detailed in the quality of his work and in all that he did.
Mark is survived by his wife Sally; his two sons Tom and David; his mother Marjorie Havens; sister Amy; brothers Jim, Jeff and Phil; nieces Jessica and Jeni; and nephew Ian; as well as great nieces Bailey, Cassandra, Samantha and great nephews Connor and Cayson.
Our thanks to all of our neighbors and friends who helped us through these tough times.
Memorial Mass will be held Friday, December 20, 2019 at 10:00am at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Parish in Loveland, CO with a reception downstairs following mass.
Mark was the best son, husband, father, brother, uncle and friend anyone could ask for.
