Loyd O. Minor prematurely passed away at Pathways Hospice Care Center at McKee Medical Center on December 1, 2019. He was born on January 2, 1939 in Sanger, California to Lonie Minor and Nora Minor-Copelan.
He graduated high school from Sanger High School in 1956 and then attended a trade school where he received a certificate in electronics and technology. He started with Hewlett Packard in Palo Alto California and relocated to Loveland in 1967, where he worked as a technician, test supervisor, and product manager. He took great pride in telling everyone that he had met Mr. Hewlett and Mr. Packard personally.
He met and then married the love of his life, Betty Kern, on September 15, 1972. They had just celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary.
Loyd was a lover of the outdoors and his hobbies included fishing and acting in the local theater. Many Sundays he could be found in his recliner watching either Nascar, or the Broncos. In high school, he was very popular singing in the quartet and keeping his classmates entertained with his quick wit. He shared a picturesque plot of land outside of Westcliffe Co with his wife Betty, where their favorite past-time was to enjoy the Sangres and wildlife passing by in their meadow with their favorite four-legged friend Bodie. His greatest love was watching his grandchildren grow and attending their sporting events.
He is preceded in death by his father Lonie Minor, mother Nora Minor-Copelan, and brother Gerald Minor. Surviving in addition to his wife Betty (Kern) Minor: are his sons Greg Minor and wife Anna and Lonnie Minor and wife Neeka; daughters Robin Hoffman and husband Larry, Dawn Woods and husband Phillip, and Lana Grant and husband Eric; 11 grandchildren Jason, Sarah, Kenny, Corina, Lauren, Julianna “Jade”, Parker, Kyla, Jacob, Jenna and Kiersten; 2 great grandchildren Aiden and Keely; and 1 very dear Cocker Spaniel, Bodie.
