It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that Lisa A. (Skillen) Turner- mother, wife, grandmother, and sister - of Loveland, CO passed away April 21, 2018. Lisa was born January 2, 1963 in Bronx, NY to James Skillen and Arline (Hogan) Skillen. The family relocated to Coral Springs, FL in 1974.
Lisa met her future husband Darren in 1981 while attending Coral Springs High; they were married in 1985 and had two children, Darren J. Turner and Brianna L. Turner. Lisa and her family lived in Coral Springs and relocated to Loveland, CO in 2000. Lisa loved to pronounce her new city LOVE-LAND since she was so in love with her family and life.
Lisa was a stay at home mom until becoming a registered nurse in 2012. Lisa was a wonderful and caring person to which nursing was a natural extension of herself, allowing her to touch and enrich many lives. She is still appreciated by many former patients. Lisa had a green thumb, she was an animal lover, and a great nursing student, graduating summa cum laude. Lisa was a fantastic cook and wonderful mother, wife, daughter, sister, niece and friend. Her parents, her uncle Thomas, grandmother Agnes and brother-in-law Scott preceded Lisa in death. Lisa is survived by her husband Darren, daughter Brianna (Breezy), son Darren (DJ), his wife Sarah, a very much loved granddaughter Brynley, brother Jamie and sister Laura.
Lisa will be forever in our hearts and minds. She will be missed greatly.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am and viewing at 9:00 am at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Parish Wednesday, May 2, 2018 with reception at same location afterwards.
