Linnea Jo Queen Schauer, slipped from this life on July 3, 2018 at Pathways Hospice Care Center at McKee Medical Center in Loveland, Colorado due to COPD. She was 69 years old. Linnea was born on May 26, 1949 in Brush, Colorado to Robert and Helen Tonstad Queen. Her parents moved to Longmont, Colorado when she was 3 years old. She attended Central Elementary School, graduating in 1967 and attended the University of Northern Colorado for 1 year.
On May 25, 1973 she married Marvin Schauer in Longmont.
Her love of music took her from choir in high school to being a member of ‘Up With People’ to following local bands with her best friend Carla Philip. She later joined various fan clubs, where she was able to meet many country artists, her favorite being Billy Ray Cyrus…proven by the 17 pictures she had taken with him and the memorabilia she collected. Through his fan club she made many friends both here in the U.S. and from other countries. These ties were made easier with Facebook.
Linnea use to tell us she would be in movies some day and she was. She and her husband Marv were members of a mountain man club where they became extras in “Mountain Men” and “Centennial.” She enjoyed meeting the actors and having pictures taken with them.
Her working career varied and included Model Laundry, IBM, Net Library, and finished with Wal-Mart. If you had film processed, pictures made, or bought a camera at either Wal-Mart in Longmont, you most likely met her.
Her friendliness, smile, and quick wit will be missed.
Linnea is survived by her daughter Tiffany Schauer; twin granddaughters Bailey and Makenzie Delong; sisters Doralyn Mapstone and Shelley Pol; nephews and a niece; great nephews and nieces; and many more relatives.
Cremation has been handled by Viegut Funeral Home in Loveland, Colorado. A memorial will be held at Old Mill Park, 237 Pratt Street, in Longmont, Colorado on August 4, 2018 at 12:00pm. Go to www.viegutfuneralhome.com for on-line condolences.
The family would like to give a special “THANK YOU” to Pathways Hospice for the heartfelt care given to Linnea and the family through her last days.
