Larry was born to Lawrence Sr. and Mary (Holly) Wassmer on March 29, 1942 in Paterson, New Jersey. He grew up in Butler, New Jersey graduating from St. Anthony of Padua Elementary School and Butler High School. He married Betty Atkins on May 1, 1965. He re-located his family to Loveland when he was offered a lineman position at the City of Loveland electric department.
Larry enjoyed woodworking especially custom cabinetry, home improvements, reading, rooting for his Green Bay Packers and spending time with his family. Larry had a firm and faithful belief in God, was a practicing Catholic and his mantra was “Family is Everything in Life.” He will be greatly missed by his entire family and those who knew him well.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years Betty, daughters Patty (Wade) Henderson and Cindie (Ray) Salazar both of Loveland, sons David (Joy Townsend) of Milton, PA and Michael (Andrea) of Richmond, VA, grandchildren Wade (Gracelet) Henderson of Aurora, Steven (Heather) Henderson of Loveland, Michelle (Doug) Trowbridge of Dighton, KS, Zoey and Christian Osborne of Loveland, Laura Wassmer, of Milton, PA, Zach, Owen and Allie Wassmer of Richmond, VA, great-grandchildren Alysson and Eliza Trowbridge of Dighton, KS, a sister Elaine Dublin of Pompton Plains, NJ and a brother Keith Wassmer. Larry is pre-deceased by his parents and a son, Lawrence James.
Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday February 6, 2019, 10am at Saint John the Evangelist Catholic Parish, with a reception following at the Church.
