Laurie Dawn Kolb Passed away at Pathways Hospice Care Center in Loveland, Colorado on April 19, 2018 at only 58 years old. She was born in Boulder, Colorado on December 5, 1959 to Don Joseph Fidler and Maxine Verlie Fidler. Laurie was raised and went to school in Lyons, Colorado; she served in the Army National Guard in the late 70’s and early 80’s.
Laurie worked at PTA plastic tooling aids as quality control finisher in Boulder during the 80’s and 90’s. She then moved to Loveland in 2000, started bartending, and loved it. Laurie worked at the Black Steer of Loveland, Abetas of Berthoud (at that time) and the derby Grille of Berthoud, her last job was at Gateway Liquor as a cashier where she loved meeting and talking to people. She also loved camping and being with her dogs (Waylon and Willy), showing mules, going to car shows and cruising in our 50’s pickup truck and taking road trips in the RV. Her favorite music was County music such as Garth Brooks and many other artists, she especially loved going to the country jam. Laurie has stayed at home since 2013 with poor health and her latest dogs (Turtle and Bear).
Some of her best friends were the Rosses family of Berthoud and the Wiggens Family of Loveland and the people she met while working as a bartender.
Laurie is survived by husband Arnold Kolb of 30 years, son DJ Kolb (Dena) of Wiss, 2 Daughters Rebecca Girards (John) and Beverly Wells (Tim) of Texas, 7 Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren. Sisters Deana Roe of Lyons, Sussie King of Del Camino, brother John Lawly of Wyoming and lots of nieces and nephews.
She is proceeded in death by her parents Don Joseph Fidler and Maxine Verlie Fidler and a sister Patricia Billings of Lyons, Co.
A gathering of friends and family will be held at the Viegut Funeral Home Reception Center on May 4, 2018 beginning at 2:30pm. Donations can be made on behalf of Laurie to Arnold Kolb to help with expenses.
