Judith Ann Looney previously of Johnstown, Colorado passed away on February 2, 2020. Judy was born in St. Louis, Missouri to parents Paul William Dunlavy and Dorothy Mae (Dicks) Dunlavy. She was the third child of five children born to her parents. She had a brother and sister born previously to her mother, and has a brother born later to her father.
Judy married Loren Thomas Cooper in Kansas, when she was 17 years old, and they had two children (Sidney Lyn Cooper and Larry Thomas Cooper). She later married George Hannibal (Fred) Looney, who she was married to until he died in 1980. Judy and Fred enjoyed entertaining, as Fred was a gourmet chef. They lived in many places together including Hawaii, Alaska, and Colorado.
Judy had several occupations in her 83 years. She was a dance teacher for Arthur Murray Studio, an aluminum siding salesman, a cocktail waitress and bartender, a restaurant owner, an oil camp cook on the Northern Slope of Alaska, and a certified nursing assistant.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, half- brother Donald Voorhees, half- sister Donna Mae Kelts (Bill), brother Paul Dicks Dunlavy, and her sister Bette Rae Dunlavy Olsen.
Judy is survived by her children: Sidney and Larry (Jodie), grandchildren: Ryan Cooper (Patti), Danielle Fournier (Ben), and Donovan Cooper (Jenny), great grandchildren: Zayla, Cooper, Nolan and River. Another great-granddaughter will be born soon. She is also survived by her sister Joan Dunlavy Summers Mills, sister Virginia Dunlavy Mottern (Hugh), and brother William D. Dunlavy (DeAnn) and many nieces and nephews. Judy loved her family very much.
A private family celebration of life for Judy will be held in the summer.
