Jeanne Hunter Howard

July 22, 1927 ~ August 20, 2019 (age 92)

Jeanne Howard was born in Perth, Western Australia, Australia. After a long life of 92 years, Jeanne died in Loveland, Colorado,  surrounded by family.

Jeanne was born to William Miles Hunter and Mary Alice Palmer Hunter, the sixth child of eight. There were six brothers: William, Robert, Frank, George, Terrence, and Fred.  Jeanne had one sister, Mary.  She is survived by the youngest sibling, Fred.   Jeanne’s older brothers served in the Australian military services in WWII.  All of the brothers returned home safely after fighting in the defense of England.  

There was an American Naval submarine base in Fremantle, Australia. Jeanne met her future husband, Frank, a submariner during WWII. During the submarine’s docking for repairs, Frank met Jeanne where they courted.  They were married in Oakland, California.  They raised three children, Robert Myles King, Karen Jean Howard, and Philip Mark Howard.  Being a military spouse, Jeanne lived in many parts of the US. Her favorite place was the submarine base Pearl Harbor, Oahu, Hawaii. 

After deep studies of the Bible, Jeanne was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on May 18, 1996. She remained faithful to her commitment to her God, Jehovah, until her death.

Jeanne is survived by her three children, Robert (wife Pauline), Karen (husband Raymond), and Philip (wife Teressa). Jeanne is also survived by her grandchildren; of Robert: Nathan, Julian, Hunter and Erica. Of Karen:  Matthew, Karousel, Heath, and Joshua. Of Philip: Kristi and Myles.

Great Grandchildren include:  Chandon, Chace, Sterling, Mason, Jami, Ryan, Logan, Liam, Cailyn, Brian, and Belinda.

Many dear friends and loving family will remember Jeanne for her kind heart and for the many scarves and dishcloths she knitted and gifted with love.

There will be a special graveside service for family.

A memorial service for Jeanne: August 31, 2019, 1:00 P.M. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 628 Ptarmigan Run Loveland, CO with an open house reception from 3pm-5pm at The Lincoln Center Columbine Room, 417 Magnolia Street Fort Collins, CO
