James “JB” Berton Barthlama passed away on Sunday, November 11, 2018 at Medical Center of the Rockies. He was born on May 26, 1944 to Carl and Betty (Willis) Barthlama in Fort Morgan, Colorado. He graduated from Fort Morgan High School in 1962, and attended Colorado State University. There he met his first love DeLeva Moyer. They were married June 7, 1964 and had 2 children; a daughter, Robyn, and a son, Scott.
JB worked in banking and was a loyal employee for 28 years with 1st National Bank of Fort Collins. He spent time working in North Platte, Nebraska and Missoula Montana as well. When he retired, he spent time hunting, fishing, reading and gambling a little bit as well. He was a lifetime member and volunteer for Pheasants Forever.
In March of 2015 he lost DeLeva to Alzheimer’s. November 8, 2016 he married his second love Linda Pacas.
He is survived by his wife Linda; daughter Robyn King (Darel) and their children Carissa and Josh; son Scott Barthlama (Elizabeth); a brother Stanley Barthlama (Diane); sisters Nancy Pruess and Barbara Musgrave (Mike); step-children Dee Carrillo (Bill), Randy Pacas (Lynn); and 6 step-grandchildren and 2 step-great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, November 17, 2018. 2:30 pm at the Good Shepherd Church, 3429 N. Monroe Ave. Loveland Colorado. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association of Colorado www.alz.org/co or the MCR Foundation www.pvhandmcrfoundation.org in honor of JB.
