Heinrich “Henry” Boehm was born on May 22, 1926 and died peacefully in his sleep at Brookdale North Assisted Living Center in Loveland, Colorado on March 16, 2018.
Henry was born and lived in Germany. He was drafted into the German army at age 16 and fought in “The Battle of the Bulge” in WWII. He was awarded the “Iron Cross.” Henry was married to Viktoria (Pakis) for 67 years; they had 3 children and immigrated to the USA in 1966 to follow the oldest daughter Adele and to keep the family together. Henry lived in Michigan for 20 years before moving to Colorado. Henry enjoyed bowling in his younger years and mushroom and berry picking with his wife, they also enjoyed visits to Central City. He enjoyed visiting and living with his son in Livermore and the friendships he developed on “the mountain.” Henry had a great sense of humor and loved to play his accordion and the piano. He loved to dance and be the family jokster.
Henry was preceded in death by his daughter Adele Starr, his wife Viktoria and his grandson Michael Starr, his sister Elsbeth Seifert and his brother Berhard Boehm
Henry is survived by his son Wilfried (Gabriele) Boehm of Livermore Colorado; daughter Inge “Uschi” (Chuck) Eichorn of Thornton Colorado; sister Gertrud Freeman of Calabash, North Carolina; 5 Grandchildren Eddie, Vicky, Susie, Stefan and Bobby; 13 Great Grandchildren and 6 Great Great Grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service is scheduled for April 14, 2018 at 2 PM at Viegut Funeral Home in Loveland, Colorado. In lieu of flowers …memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association in Henry’s name… on line: heart.org or by phone 1-800-242-8721.
