Greeley, CO - Ellen Sadusky, age 96, passed away Monday, November 11, 2019 from pneumonia. Grave side services will be held in Wheatland, Wyoming, where she will join her parents and sister on Friday, November 22, 2019 at 1:00 pm.
Ellen was born to Ida and Charles Clack on October 11, 1923 in Bluefield, West Virginia. She spent most of her childhood on the east coast and especially New Jersey,
Ellen was a kind, loving, and friendly woman. She was also strong and determined enough to raise five children, and to follow her husband around the country, including Weisbaden, Germany, during his 20 year career in the Air Force. Stanley James Sadusky and Ellen were married on June 29, 1941. Stanley passed away in 2007 after 66 years of marriage to Ellen.
After Stanley retired, he and Ellen moved to Fort Collins, Colorado. From there, they moved to Windsor, CO and Greeley, CO. One of Ellen’s favorite activities was as a member of the Harmonetts. A singing group sponsored by the Windsor Senior Center.
Ellen was an accomplished needlewoman. She was skilled in knitting, crochet, needlepoint, hardanger, and counted cross stitch, which in 1990 won her a third place ribbon at the New Mexico State Fair.
Ellen’s mother was born in London, England. Her father was a Beefeater in the Royal Army. Her trip to England to visit her family there, and the apartment in the Tower of London that her Mother lived in, was a" bucket list" trip come true.
Ellen’s last home was in the Centennial Health Care facility. She made many friends there among the residents and the staff. Ellen was featured in a video Centennial made to promote their program of senior care. She was a member of the South English Congregation of the Jehovah’s Witnesses in Greeley, CO.
Ellen leaves behind five children, six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one great, great-grandchild. The children are: Carolyn McDowell, Rio Rancho, NM; Mary Ellen Roberts, Seattle, WA; Joanne Reid, Sacramento, CA; Sharon Montgomery, Sacramento, CA; and Stanley Sadusky, Jr., Greeley, CO.
