Byron Scott McKitrick passed away on December 23, 2019 at the age of 85 at his home in Good Samaritan Village in Loveland, Colorado. He was born on March 4, 1934 to Hubert and Grace (Atkinson) McKitrick in Lamar, Colorado. He attended Wiley High School, Colorado State University and Letourneau Tech.
On September 4, 1955 he married Rachel Burke and they had two children, Laurie (1960) and Scott (1963). From 1958-1960 he served in the United States Army at the Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland. He was employed by Martin Co. in Denver from 1960-1965 and was with Hewlett-Packard in Loveland from 1965-1998.
Byron is survived by his wife, Rachel having been married for 64 years. Also surviving are his son, Scott, Albuquerque, NM, his daughter-in-law, Katherine Yuhas, Albuquerque, NM, son-in-law, Kevin McCarthy, Golden, CO and five grandchildren: Paul Bañagas, Meghan McCarthy, Elizabeth McKitrick, Mariah Everett and Sam McKitrick, and the newest addition to the family, great grandson Bodhi Naoki Bañagas. He was preceded in death by his daughter Laurie. He was a kind, thoughtful man and will be greatly missed.
He was an avid member of the Loveland Breakfast Optimist Club and the Hewlett-Packard Retirees Group. He also enjoyed his membership in the African Violet Society with his wife, Rachel.
