Ann E. Ballard was born May 10th, 1932 in Chapman, Nebraska and died January 2nd, 2019 at the age of 86 after several years of declining health due to Alzeimer's. Her parents were Julius A Hill and Mae G. Colgin Hill. Ann grew up on a farm in Nebraska and attended a one room country school. She attended high school in Lincoln Nebraska. Ann moved to Fort Collins, Co in 1950 and met her husband there. She married Kenneth Ballard on January 12th, 1951. They moved to Loveland in 1958 and she worked part time as a waitress at the Dude Corral Restaurant from 1968-1986 where she enjoyed meeting and becoming friends with all the people who came in. She enjoyed doing crossword and jigsaw puzzles, playing bingo and gardening. Ann always enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by two daughters, Kathy (Brian) Spradling and Karen (John) Williams of Colorado, and one son, Ken (Laura) Ballard of Florida, three granddaughters, Jennifer Alexander and Monica Meiu of Colorado, and Brittany (Phil) Main of Texas, and one grandson, Brent (Kelleigh) Ballard of Colorado, seven great-grandchildren, Kaitlynn and Kody Alexander, Brooklynn Fenske, and Dominik, Jude, and Halston Meiu, and Arabella Main, sister, Evelyn Wood of Colorado, brothers Edward (Darlene) Hill and Bill Hill of Tennessee, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth, in 1991, her parents, sister-in-law, Pearl Hill, and a grandson-in-law, Brent Alexander.
The family would like to thank the caregivers at the Green House Homes at Mirasol and Halcyon Hospice for their loving care and kindness to Ann. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Green House Homes at Mirasol would be appreciated. Mom will be remembered for her sweet smile and giggles, for the love she showed to all her family, and for many other wonderful memories.
Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, January 9, 2019, 1:30 P.M at the Green House at Mirasol.
